Tickets On Sale on 2nd August for Hong Kong 2010 Bledisloe Cup
July 13, 2010

[Hong Kong, 13 July 2010] Tickets for the highly anticipated Hong Kong 2010 Bledisloe Cup will be available to Hong Kong and Macao residents from Monday 2 August. Interest in the match is high, and it is expected to be a sell-out.

The national rugby teams of Australia (Wallabies) and New Zealand (All Blacks) will battle for the Bledisloe Cup at the Hong Kong Stadium on Saturday 30 October. The Hong Kong 2010 Bledisloe Cup test marks a return to Hong Kong for the legendary trophy, following the great success of the 2008 encounter between two of the world’s rugby heavyweights.

At 10:00am, on Monday 2 August, tickets will go on sale to the public. They will be available through Hong Kong Ticketing online booking service, telephone hotline and sales outlets:

  • Online Booking: www.hkticketing.com
  • Ticket Purchase Hotline: +852 31 288 288 (10am – 8pm daily)

The entire stadium will be reserved seating. Supporters can choose from and reserve available seats in the three price categories:

  • HK$1,250 (Gold)
  • HK$1,000 (Silver)
  • HK$880 (Bronze)

There are also a limited number of Child tickets available; these are priced at HK$380. Children’s tickets are limited, and are only available in the Adult Bronze seating sections.

Hong Kong Rugby Football Union Executive Director, Mr. Robert Knight said, “After the great success of the 2008 match, bringing the Bledisloe Cup back to Hong Kong further enhances Hong Kong’s reputation for hosting top-class sporting events, while reinforcing our position as a leading rugby destination.”

“The demand for tickets from our member clubs and official travel agents, along with the demand for corporate hospitality packages has been encouraging. We expect that the public sales will also be strong. There was an incredible response when we hosted the historic Bledisloe Cup test match here two years ago, and we are expecting a similar experience.”

“The All Blacks and Wallabies are two of the best teams in the world. This is a unique opportunity to watch international rugby at its very best. We are sure that all fans will be in for a remarkable rugby experience,” added Mr. Knight.

2010 Bledisloe Cup Series

With the inclusion of the Hong Kong match, the Bledisloe Cup will be decided over four tests in 2010. Australia and New Zealand are scheduled to meet three times as part of the Tri Nations Series and then contest the fourth and final match in Hong Kong.

The Bledisloe Cup series will kick off at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on Saturday 31July.
